Fr George Vakayil Charities dissolved: To start the canonization process of Rev Fr George Vakayil

Maradu:
The Fr. George Vakayil Charities which was established in the year 1981 was dissolved by the members general body meeting held here on the other day. The move is said to speed up the canonization process of the saintly father, George Vakayil, who was the parish priest in St Mary Magdelene Church, Maradu Moothedom decades back. The Parishioners and the devotees are eagerly waiting for the beatification process of this saintly priest in near future.

Seminar for Senior Citizens and book release on citizens rights

Maradu: A seminar on Senior Citizens Act and release of a book on senior citizens were held here on last day, organised by KPCC Minority Cell Thripunithura Block Committee. The book authored by Minority Cell Block President Adv Sherry J Thomas was released by the Maradu Municipal Chairman Adv T K Devarajan. Iqbal Valiaveetil, the District President of Minority Cell presided over.

Complaint lodged against water leakage in Bund-Ayini Road (Vijaya Road) by Vijaya Nagar Residents Association

Complaint has been lodged by the Vijaya Nagar Residents Association against the apathy from the Thripunithura Water Authority in not repairing the damaged pipe. For last one week, one side of the road is lying in pool of water and still it continues. The heavy traffic of bigger lorries are the cause for the issue, alleged the VNRA Office bearers in their complaint lodged in the CM's Grievance Cell.  The docket number for the complaint is 5555/2012. dated 5-8-2012.

Maradu: The Golden Jubilee Souvenir of P S Mission Hospital Maradu released here on 30/5/2012. The Municipal Chairman of Maradu Municipality received the first copy for Rev Dr Alex Vadakkumthala, Vicar General of Archdiocese of Verapoly. The Souvenir was handed over by the Editor James Edanilath. Rev Sr. Liza, Fr Paul Thundiyil, Sr Dr Annie Sheela, Adv Sherry J Thomas, Sr Dr Jaya Spoke. The meet ended with feast.

Demand for lights in Maradu NH bye pass.

Maradu: Even though the toll collection are full swing for the NH bye pass Vytilla - Aroor stretch, no steps for repairing the street lights are been taken by the authorities. Previously for some area from Vytilla to Thykkudam street lights were maintained by the Cochin Corporation; but this also not working.

The Thevara- Kundannur bridge is also lacking proper lighting; thanks to the toll collection here also since the opening of the bridge. Complaints were raised from various quarters that, the authorities are not interested in taking up these kind of matters.
