Fr Anthony Elenjimittam commemorated.
Maradu: Legendary Priest Fr Anthony Elenjimittam commemorated at his native place, Maradu. Fr Anthony was a an advocate of Cosmic Ecumenism. After embracing priesthood, Fr Anthony extended his activism to European countries. He started orphanages, destitute homes and educational scholarship for students and children. Minister K C Joseph inaugurated the Event. Adv Devarajan, Municipal Chairman of Maradu presided over. K M Roy, Dominic Presentation, Adv V A Jerom, Jayan Master, Sr Kevin, T P Antony, K A Devassy, Br Joseph Spoke. A E Charities Chairman Siby Xavier extended welcome and Cleetus Kakkanad said vote of thanks.

Death Centenary functions of Rev Fr George Vakayil Started.
Maradu: The Death Centenary functions of Fr George Vakayil started here at St Mary Magdelene Church. The installation of the pandal held last day. The inauguration of the payasam making will start on Saturday, 29th of October 2011. About 30000 devotees will participate in the function, said the General Convenor James Sooner.

As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Maradu P S Mission Hospital, painting and drawing competitions were held for kids. Around 100 of kids participated in the event held at the campus of P.S.Mission Nursing School, at NH 49, Maradu.
Forane Vicar Very Rev Fr Paul Thundiyil Inaugurated the event. Dr. Kunjumon, Siby Master, Edwin Earayil, Sr. Sislet, Sr.Norberta, Sr Dr. Jaya, Adv Sherry J Thomas spoke.

80th DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF VAKAYILACHAN - works started
The 80 the death anniversary of Saintly Priest Rev Fr George Vakayil will be observed o 3rd and 4th of this November. A committee comprising of more than 100 persons were formed in a public meeting held in St Mary Magdelene Church, Moothedom, last week. Various conveners were selected to take care of the various events to be held in connection with the commemoration of death anniversary.
Scholarship distribution for meritorious students will also take place on that day.

A new blog has been started in the name of Rev Fr George Vakayil (vakayilachan), the blessed priest who served in Maradu Moothedom parish 1922.
The reminiscence of vakayilachan is still present in the Maradu area through his powerful intercession for the needy ones in their spiritual and material needs.
A large number of devotees used to visit the tomb of vakayilachan on every day, especially on fridays, where special mass and prayer is scheduled.
Vakayilachan served in St Mary Magdelene Church, Moothedom, under the Archdiocese of Verapoly as the 13th vicar of the parish.

ദാരിദ്ര്യ നിര്മ്മാര്ജ്ജനം ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടുകൊണ്ട് 1998-ല് സംസ്ഥാന തദ്ദേശ സ്വയംഭരണ വകുപ്പ് ആവിഷ്കരിച്ച സംവിധാനമാണ് കുടുംബശ്രീ. സംസ്ഥാന ദാരിദ്ര്യ നിര്മ്മാര്ജ്ജന മിഷന് ആണ് ഈ പ്രോജക്ട് നടത്തുന്നത്. നബാര്ഡിന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ കേരള സര്ക്കാര് ഈ പ്രോജക്ടിന് രൂപം നല്കി. 1998 മേയ് 17-ന് മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലയില് വച്ച് ബഹു:മുന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. അടല് ബിഹാരി വാജ്പേയ് ആണ് ഈ പ്രോജക്ടിന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിര്വ്വഹിച്ചത്. ഇന്ന് കുടുംബശ്രീയുടെ പ്രവര്ത്തനം ശക്തവും വിപുലവുമാകുകയും സ്ത്രീകളുടെ കരുത്തുറ്റ സംഘടനാ സംവിധാനം നിലവില് വരികയും ചെയ്തു. സാമ്പത്തികമായി പിന്നോക്കം നില്ക്കുന്ന ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് കുടുംബങ്ങള് കുടുംബശ്രീയില് അംഗങ്ങളാണ്. 15 മുതല് 40 വരെ കുടുംബങ്ങളില് നിന്നും ഓരോ വനിത ഉള്പ്പെടുന്ന അയല്ക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളെ ഏകോപിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഏരിയാ ഡവലപ്മെന്റ് സൊസൈറ്റികളും കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി ഡവലപ്മെന്റ് സൊസൈറ്റികളും ഉള്പ്പെടുന്ന കുടുംബശ്രീ സംഘടനാ സംവിധാനം തദ്ദേശ സ്വയംഭരണ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളില് രൂപീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. നൂതന ആശയങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില് ജനപങ്കാളിത്തത്തോടുകൂടി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്ന മികച്ച ജനസേവന പരിപാടിക്ക് കോമണ്വെല്ത്ത് അസ്സോസിയേഷന് ഫോര് പബ്ലിക് അഡ്മിനിസ്ട്രേഷന് ആന്റ് മാനേജ്മെന്റ് ഏര്പ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര സുവര്ണ്ണ പുരസ്കാരം, 119 രാജ്യങ്ങളില് നിന്നുള്ള എന്ട്രികളോട് മത്സരിച്ച് നേടിയെടുക്കാന് കുടുംബശ്രീക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞു

The Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill, 2010 introduced in Lok
Sabha on 1st December, 2010 and pending therein, has been referred to the
Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel,
Public Grievances, Law and Justice, headed by Smt. Jayanthi Natarajan,
Member, Rajya Sabha for examination and report.
2. The Judges (Inquiry) Act, 1968 was enacted with a view to lay down a
procedure for removal, for proved misbehavior or incapacity, of Judges of
the High Courts and the Supreme Court by way of address of the Houses of
Parliament to the President. There is, however, no legal provision at present
for dealing with complaints filed by the public against Judges of the High
Courts and the Supreme Court. The need for a statutory mechanism to
address complaints of the public in this regard has been felt to bring greater
transparency in the judiciary.
3. The Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill, 2010 seeks to repeal
the Judges (Inquiry) Act, 1968, while retaining its basic features and aims to
achieve the objectives of creating a statutory mechanism for enquiring into
individual complaints against Judges of the High Courts and the Supreme
Court and recommending appropriate action, enabling declaration of assets
and liabilities of Judges and laying down the judicial standards to be
